Dewi Fortuna Anwar straddles the world of academia, political activism and government. Between October 2010 and May 2015 Dewi served as Deputy Secretary for Political Affairs, and since May 2015 as Deputy for Government Policy Support to the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. In 2015 she was appointed by the President to become a member of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI).  She has written widely on Indonesia’s foreign policy, Indonesia’s democratization as well as on ASEAN and regional political and security issues. She is a Research Professor at P2P-LIPI (Indonesian Institute of Sciences) and was the Deputy Chairman for Social Sciences and Humanities-LIPI from 2001 to 2010. Dewi is also the Chairman of the Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, The Habibie Center, a private think-tank based in Jakarta.  Dewi was Assistant Minister/State Secretary for Foreign Affairs in1998-99.  Dewi was a Visiting Fellow at CSEAS, Kyoto University in early 2010 and a Visiting Professor at SAIS, Johns Hopkins University in 2007.  Dewi sits and has sat in a number of national and international advisory boards. She is currently a member of the Governing Board of SIPRI and a Board Member of Shift. She served as a member of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission (WMDC) in 2004-2008, and a member of the UN Secretary General’s Advisory Board on Disarmament Matters in 2008-2012. Dewi was an APSA Congressional Fellow at the U.S. Congress in 1990-1991. She obtained her Phd from Monash University, Melbourne in 1990, while her M.A. and B.A. (Hons) were from SOAS, University of London in 1982 and 1981 respectively.

Ambassador of Switzerland to Indonesia, Timor-Leste and ASEAN, Jakarta

Yvonne Baumann was born in Zurich, Switzerland. She studied History, German literature and Philosophy and holds a Licentiate and a Doctor’s degree (Dr. phil.) from the University of Zurich. She joined the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in 1991 as a Foreign Service Officer and completed her diplomatic training in Bern and Budapest. From 1993 to 1996, she was assigned to the Division of Policy, Planning and Multilateral Affairs of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. From 1996 to 1999 Yvonne Baumann served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland in Caracas, Venezuela. From 2000 to 2002 she was a special advisor to the Swiss Foreign Minister. From 2002 to 2004 Yvonne Baumann was assigned as Deputy Head of Mission to the Embassy of Switzerland in Mexico. In 2004 she was promoted to the rank of Ambassador and took on as Head of the Political Affairs Division in charge of the Americas at the Foreign Ministry in Bern. From March 2010 to September 2014 she served as the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Chile. On 13th October 2014 she presented her Letter of Credence to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, accrediting her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Indonesia. On 1st December 2014 she handed over her Letter of Presentation to ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh and on 16th February 2015 she presented her Letter of Credence to President Taur Matan Ruak accrediting her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

She is married to Mr. Ruben Chirino Ochoa.

Endy Bayuni returned to become editor-in-chief The Jakarta Post in January 2016, a position he had held previously between 2004 and 2010. A 33-year veteran in journalism, he had stints as the Indonesian correspondent for Reuters and Agence France-Presse (AFP) in the early years of his career. He is a regular commentator of the Indonesian politics and its foreign policy and on the changing media landscape, with his opinion pieces appearing in The Jakarta Post and foreign publications like the Strait Times of Singapore and New York Times, among others. He is involved with various media organizations and is currently executive director of the International Association of Religion Journalists (IARJ) which he helped found in 2012. He is also active in organizing English writing workshops for professionals. He received several fellowship programs during his career, including as Senior Fellow at the East West Center office in Washington in 2011, as Nieman Fellow at Harvard University in 2003/2004, and as Jefferson Fellow at the East West Center in Hawaii in 1999.

Dino Patti Djalal is founder of the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia, a nonpartisan, nonprofit forum launched in 2014, and an Asia Fellow at the Milken Institute Asia Center. Djalal, a career diplomat, is a former Indonesian deputy foreign minister, a former presidential spokesperson and speechwriter, a former ambassador to the United States and a 2014 presidential hopeful, as well as a youth advocate, academic and best-selling author. He is on the governing board of the Institute for Peace and Democracy and the executive board of the Indonesian Council on World Affairs and is chairman of the Indonesian board of the World Resources Institute. Honors include Bintang Mahaputra, Indonesia's highest medal for meritorious and distinguished service, in 2014; the Global Innovation Award from Emory University in 2012; and the Bintang Jasa Utama medal in 2010. Djalal holds bachelor's and master's degrees in political science from Carleton University and Simon Fraser University, respectively, and a doctorate from the London School of Economics.

He has spent the last decade with the Nestle Group having held key leadership positions in Africa and South East Asia.

Lim Siong Guan is a professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore and also a Senior Fellow of the Singapore Civil Service College. He was Group President of GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, from 2007 to 2016. His illustrious career in the Singapore Civil Service included being Head of the Civil Service (1999 - 2005) and Chairman of the Singapore Economic Development Board (2006 - 2009). Simon has extensive experience in bancassurance. During his time in Dubai he was in a key managerial position to help drive Zurich’s bank relationships in the region. Born in Jakarta in 1962, Chairul is the founder and Chairman of CT Corp.

Prior to establishing CT Corp, Chairul started and ran several businesses. The first one was a medical/dental equipment trading business which he established in 1983 under CV Abadi Medical and Dental Supply. Other businesses included a contracting/property development business for government and private sector projects, as well as shoes and roof tile manufacturing. Chairul Tanjung established CT Corp in 1987 under the name Para Group and has successfully nurtured CT Corp to reach its current state.

Before moving to Indonesia to join Sinar Mas, Mr Van Dijk advised international development institutions, governments, central banks and NGOs for over twenty years on strategic, policy and regulatory aspects of building inclusive financial sectors. Providing access to financial services is an important tool for building inclusive, equitable societies and economies in which providers and regulators can be held accountable by citizens, thus also supporting building transparent, strong democracies.

Peter is married, with one daughter. You can find them often in the gym and the swimming pool. And Peter cannot stop discussing new ideas for building a more sustainable, better integrated world.

Born in Sawahlunto on the 3rd of March 1941, Mr Sofjan Wanandi has been an influential figure in Indonesia, both in business and political world. He undertook his studies in University of Indonesia. He demonstrate his leadership quality whilst studying in University by being the head of Association of Catholic Student in Republic of Indonesia (PMKRI), he is also one of the chairman for Union of Indonesia Student Action (KAMI). 

Mr Sofjan Wanandi started his political journey by joining the Golkar party, and shortly after, he is appointed to become part of the People’s Representative Council, as well as the People’s consultative assembly of the Republic of Indonesia. At the time of appointment, Mr Wanandi was one of the youngest member of the parliament which exhibit his intelligence and charisma to be a member at a tender age of 23 years old. During the time in between he was in the government he also serves as the staff of personal assistant for the President of Republic Indonesia Soeharto. 

During the early 2000, President Abdurrahman Wahid, bestow a task to Mr Wanandi to aid the nation economy and task him to recover Indonesia’s economy. Mr Wanandi initiated the establishment of National Economic Recovery Committee (KPEN), which main task is to provide government, the parliaments and policy makers along with other industry with valuable inputs which include recommend a policy to each sectors. During his abdication to the government, he also leads several different organizations such as the Council for National Business Development, for the National Economic Recovery Committee.

Mr Sofjan Wanandi have been the Chairman of Indonesia Employers Association (APINDO) since May 2003. It is an independepent, democratic and national-wide entrepreneur organizations that addresses industrial and economic related issues in Indonesia. Mr Wanandi leads the Board of Management of APINDO at national level which the head office based in Jakarta. Under Mr Wanandi leadership, the organization have expanded both domestic and globally, and ever since showed its importance and presence in the economic development of the country as key stakeholders.

Mr Wanandi also served as a member of the Deutsche Bank AG Regional Advisory Board Asia / Pacific. He helps assess business development strategies and investments, provides advice to Deutsche Bank’s senior management and the Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank Asia/Pacific, promotes and enhances the bank’s reputation in the financial services community. In 2007, Mr Wanandi was asked to be involved in SAT NUSAPERSADA Tbk as the President Comissioner. He is also active in Thiess Contractor part of the Advisory Board since 2005, he was also part of the Advisory Board for Capital Group Companies (1996-1998) and Carlyle Group (1998-2000) Mr Wanandi also serves as board member for the Regional Autonomy Watch (KPPOD), Independent organizations that analyzes the government economic related policies in the region. 

Mr Sofjan Wanandi has for the past three decades, been the chairman and CEO of Gemala Group & Santini Group, an Indonesian based diversified conglomerate with various interest in different industries. Both Gemala Group & Santini Group have been extremely successful under his leadership, and now the company span across Indonesia as well as internationally, The company employed more than 15,000 workers.

On a personal note, Mr Wanandi have been awarded the Arkansas Traveller which is presented by Bill Clinton as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award. He is happily married with wife Riantini Sutedja for 46 years and counting in which blessed with 3 children and 10 grandchildren. On his spare time he likes to spend it with his family and enjoy the occasional golf.

Chi-Won Yoon is CEO of UBS AG, Asia Pacific. Before, Mr. Yoon served in various senior positions within UBS, such as Head of UBS's securities business in Asia Pacific. Prior to joining UBS, he worked for Merrill Lynch in New York and for Lehman Brothers in New York and Hong Kong. Before embarking on a Wall Street career, he worked as an electrical engineer in satellite communications, and he holds university degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and in management from MIT's Sloan School of Management.
