China and the World - Shifting Gears
23-28 April 2017
Shangri-La, Chengdu

Objectives:

  • Gain a better understanding of China's cultural, economic, scientific, environmental and social trends and developments which will impact business and society over the next 5-10 years
  • Broaden the horizon through interdisciplinary and intercultural dialogue to grasp the depth and breadth of the rapidly evolving relationship between China and the world in the 21st century, driven by China's geopolitical and strategic regional and global initiatives like the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and One Belt One Road (OBOR)
  • Get on-the-ground impressions in Chengdu about the enormous potential of the "Go West" Strategy of the Chinese government, including company visits in Tianfu Software Park - the so-called "Chinese Silicon Valley" - among various further glimpses behind the scenes of Sichuan's successful growth story
