Reinventing Aquaculture into Vertical Oceans
stars Alumnus John DIENER, Co-Founder and CEO, Vertical Oceans, Singapore
27 January 2022, 10.00-10.30 (CET)

Vertical Oceans Singapore is a start-up that grows sustainable shrimp in huge “aqua towers”, which can be located inside cities, potentially in facilities that even look like buildings. The towers can incubate shrimp without chemicals or antibiotics, and out of season. To be highlighted, Shrimp is a $50 billion a year market globally. In other words, Vertical Oceans defines a new standard as the world’s most sustainable seafood producer. As the production is highly efficient, there will be no need to catch seafood from the oceans ever again.

John DIENER, Singapore-based entrepreneur, is the Co-Founder and CEO of Vertical Oceans. In this webinar he will talk about the challenges of setting up his company, about sustainability, quality, food security and where this industry will be in a couple of years. John Diener also advises and mentors start-ups, investors and government on developing and scaling AgriTech companies. Formerly, John was an executive in AgriTech and aquaculture companies.

This stars Webinar will be moderated by Toni SCHOENENBERGER, Executive Chairman, stars, Stein am Rhein, Switzerland.
