The age of the robots has been predicted for decades. As advancements in robotics and AI are reaching a tipping point, the rise of the robots could lead to just as much disruption as the rise of the web. In this webinar, Prof. Dr. Roland SIEGWART, one of the most powerful minds in the field of robotics, explains where robots are making the most headway, why they are deployed in exponential ways, and how this will change virtually every aspect of our lives.
The details are as follows:
- Topic: How Will The Rise Of The Robots Transform Our Future?
- Speaker: Roland SIEGWART, Professor of Autonomous Systems, Head, Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems, ETH Zurich; Founding Co-Director, Wyss Zurich; Member, stars Scientific Board, Zurich, Switzerland
Prof. Dr. Roland SIEGWART is full Professor of Autonomous Systems and Head of the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems at ETH Zurich. He is also the Founding Co-Director of the Wyss Zurich and a board member of various companies, including Komax and NZZ. Furthermore, as a strong promotor of innovation and entrepreneurship, Roland is a Co-Founder of half a dozen spin-off companies. His research interests are in the design and control of robot systems operating in complex and highly dynamical environments. Roland’s major goal is to find new ways to deal with uncertainties and enable the design of highly interactive and adaptive autonomous robots. Prominent application examples are personal and service robots, autonomous micro-aircrafts, walking and swimming robots and driver assistant systems.
