stars Switzerland alumni chapter meeting
Update on the US Election and Developments in the Silicon Valley
Marie-Astrid LANGER, US-Correspondent, Neue Zuercher Zeitung, San Francisco, USA
1 September 2020 (tbc), 11.30-14.00
Brasserie Lipp, Zurich

“The daily Trumpian firework distracts from the fact that the new president has indeed accomplished a lot – more, than his critics had hoped”, points out Marie-Astrid Langer, US-Correspondent, Neue Zuercher Zeitung, San Francisco.

In the first part of this alumni chapter meeting, you will obtain first-hand insights on the US election 2020, from Democratic primaries to Trump rallies, and discuss developments and predictions with stars alumna Marie-Astrid Langer.

The second part focuses on the Silicon Valley. Countless technologies that shape our daily lives today originate from Silicon Valley, but will this continue to be the case in the future? With housing costs in the Bay Area soaring, other American cities are attracting the next generation of startups and other countries are trying to position themselves as hubs for emerging industries. Has Silicon Valley peaked?
