In this 30-minute webinar, Enrica Arena, CEO, Orange Fibre, Catania, Italy, shares insights into her pioneering company transforming citrus waste into sustainable fabrics. She discusses the challenges to develop a completely new material, i. e. orange fibre fabric, in a market dominated by traditional textiles, and referring to the production process from citrus juice leftover to cellulose extraction, mixing it with cellulose from certified forests to producing fiber, yarn and fabric. Finally, Enrica also highlights the many challenges regarding scaling due to raw material sourcing, technology and market viability in order to extend the life cycle of products.
